Meet Ephraim Muesee (Bachelor of Theology, 2nd year)

"Throughout my first year at NETS I have learnt to understand the Bible in ways that I never understood it before. In the process I had to ask myself the question if I am really called. The responsibility that lies on those who teach the Bible to others is great, and one needs to think seriously about the calling now that you properly understand what you are preaching in context with God's heart. However, I am convinced that preaching the Gospel and reaching out to people and pastoring them is one of my passions here on earth and so being equipped is the thing that needs to happen for me and NETS is the right place."

"What has encouraged me most during this academic year has been the appointment of additional distance coordinators, enabling the Distance Department to grow even more. I have enjoyed seeing t...he ITSlearning (e-learning) platform being successfully used for the first time. Looking back at my time at NETS so far, I am grateful to see how much more effective the Distance Department has become at teaching and training people who are unable to come to Windhoek and study full-time in the residential courses. My passion in ministry is helping people understand the Bible correctly, in that way knowing God more deeply, and understanding his will for their lives."

"I had and still have a deep hunger for God and it challenges me that there are so many people out there who do not know God. I want them to see and know that God is amazing and He wants to be a part ...of our lives if we allow him. I thank God that I can study His word at NETS and preach it to the world. At my current church it will be very valued because I will be one of the few women in the Rhenish Church who will serve as a pastor."

"NETS is a special school because lasting friendship relationships are established and practical ministry opportunities are offered and practiced. NETS has also helped me to grow significantly i...n my relationship with God. What I love about NETS is that there is unity in diversity where lots of students from different backgrounds, cultures and denominations study together. Throughout my time at the school I have learnt that servanthood is a key component for service in ministry. I look forward to serving my congregation when I leave at the end of this year.

Wondering what to buy us for Christmas?

Wondering what to buy us for Christmas?

How about a square meter of tiling for our offices and classrooms? N$200 (£12/€15/US$19/AU$21) will enable us to cover one square meter with new tiles. So far only three of our offices and the reception have new tiles and we would love to do more for the upkeep of our buildings. As soon as we have the funds we hope to replace the tiles in the main hall, the classrooms, dining hall and three offices. If you would like to bless NETS this Christmas please contact Anthea at administrator@nets.edu.na to find out about how to donate money for one or more square meters of tiles.

"NETS has equipped me to share the Gospel with others. Before I would not know how to start, but at NETS they have given us good skills and advice and also the opportunity to put them in practice through practical placements. I have come to deeply appreciate the incarnation of Christ. Also, in my village there are many myths circulating about the Bible, creation etc. It is all mixed up with African Traditional Religion. Their world view is shaped by how they read the Bible and they really have a low view of Jesus. My people put our culture above the truth and compromise Christianity. NETS has helped me to discern the truth and corrected my wrong thinking about Jesus. Now I also know how to communicate this truth to others and to keep the Bible my first priority, not my culture."

Meet the staff and students of NETS

To become more familiar with NETS we will start a series introducing you every week to a new person who is connected with NETS, their thoughts, joys and challenges. Today we will begin with our Acting Principal Rev Simon Gillham: More »

"The thing I enjoy most about my role at NETS is being involved in preparing men and women for Christian ministry. Time and again I have seen people transformed through the renewing of their minds (cf. Romans 12:2). Through NETS some people have come to faith, and daily people are growing in maturity as Christians. I love the fact that I work with people who encourage me to continue to learn and grow and slowly become more and more like Jesus." » Less
