We praise God for the new student intake for the academic year 2017. The first semester is now well under way and we are grateful for the highest number of full-time residential students in the history of NETS.
NETS is very pleased to announce the appointment of Rev. Lukas Katenda as the new Academic Dean. Rev. Katenda is an ordained Anglican minister and much respected church leader in Namibia. He holds a Master of Theology from a Seminary in the USA. In addition he has much experience in the formation of theological students as well as excellent administrative skills. The Bible is the first and most important source for us to know God better, to draw closer to Him and to receive divine guidance for our life. But ever so often the authority of the Bible is questioned or its content is abused and misinterpreted. Come and learn about the key aspects of inspiration, how the Bible came together and why we can fully trust its authority. This course will also teach you about the different models of biblical interpretation, the tools and pitfalls. It will further equip you to apply and teach basic principles regarding divine guidance. "My time at NETS has been one of the most wonderful times of my life. Learning about God and His holy Word within a diverse community of believers was a great blessing to me. For I learned that being at a Bible school is not just about the information, but about the transformation and building relationships in Christ. NETS staff and students will always be family to me for it is there together with them that I was pruned and shaped in my walk with the Lord. The BTh degree of NETS has opened up many doors for me. I am currently busy with my MEd which I also thank NETS for its contribution for it is there where my love for children (young people) grew stronger and my studies at NETS helped me to pursue it. I currently teach at a small private school in Rehoboth religious and moral education, Life Skills and English. I love what I do for I know it is helping a lot of children to grow in their walk with the Lord. God has also opened many opportunities for preaching ministry and prayer everywhere I go. I am happy to inform you that I was ordained as part-time Minister of our church in August this year. I am preparing myself spiritually as this will bring about hundreds of opportunities to share the Gospel of Christ Jesus in many parts of Rehoboth and rural areas. May God continue to bless NETS and take it to greater heights as it is equipping leaders for Christ. (2 Cor. 4:5).
Simon and Margie Gillham will be leaving NETS and Namibia this week to return to Australia. We have highly appreciated their 8 years of tireless service for the Lord and cannot truly express how much they mean to NETS and so many individuals.
Simon served as Lecturer, Academic Dean for some years and then as Acting Principal of NETS. Margie taught the students English and both of them invested themselves in the lives of many individuals. They mentored, counselled, offered hospitality, baked cakes. In addition Simon helped with countless IT issues, fixed cars, taught our maintenance worker welding, built beds for the hostels to mention but a few things.
We thank God for their faithful service to God and NETS. Our prayers go with them as they settle back in Australia and continue serving the Lord.
